1.  What personal contact information is shared with my neighbors? 
We limit the personal information that we share with your neighbors to the information neccessary for them to contact you. We include Zip Code, Tool Description, Quantity, Condition, Availability, your E-mail Address, your First Name and your Preferred Contact Method.

2.  Do I have to list tools to loan to set up an account? 
No, you do not have to list tools that you will loan to set up an account.  We recognize that many people don't have tools, are new homeowners, or may choose to not loan the tools that they have.

3.  I have no tools to loan, can I still borrow tools?
Yes, you can still borrow tools.  As long as your neighbor agrees to loan you the tool(s) that you need, AND you have set up a BorrowTools.com account, that is all that is required.

4.  If I borrow a tool from a neighbor and it breaks, who is responsible for the repair?
It is the borrower's responsibility to return the tool(s) in the same or better condition to the tool(s) owner.  That is the neighborly thing to do and it is
BorrowTools,com's policy.

5.  Can I buy damage protection to cover loss, damage or mechanical failure for the tools that I borrow?
****PENDING**** For a very nominal fee damage protection for the tool(s) that you borrow is available.  Damage protection is available for the repair cost or the estimated value of the tool listed by the owner.****PENDING****

6.What do I do if I loan a tool to a neighbor and the tool is not returned?
On the loan paperwork completed by the borrower, it clearly states and the statement is acknowledged by the borrower by her/his signature that if a tool is not returned within two days after the specified return date, the owner may consider the tool(s) "Property Theft."  It is the tool(s) owner's responsibility to report the theft to the proper state or local law enforcement authorities in her/his specific area.

7.  I want to buy a tool from someone in California and I live in Texas.  Does BorrowTool.com guarantee the delivery of a safe and serviceable tool?
BorrowTools.com does not guarantee the delivery of purchased tools nor does BorrowTools.com guarantee that the tool(s) will be safe or serviceable.  The purchase of tools listed for sale in our website is an agreement between the owner and the buyer of the tool(s).

8.  How do I know that my neighbor is trustworthy?
The only way that you will know whether your neighbor is trustworthy is to initially trust your neighbor.  Our fundamental belief is that Neighbors Helping  Neighbors must also include Neighbors Trusting Neighbors.
